Keep it to three or four short paragraphs: why this role, what you have achieved that is relevant, and a clear close. Download it as a real text PDF for free, with no account needed.
Why Free Resume PDF is free
Resume builders like resume.io, Zety and Novoresume usually let you write for free but charge before you can download. Free Resume PDF is supported by unobtrusive ads outside the editor, so the PDF download stays free with no account.
Real text PDFs that ATS software can read
Your PDF is generated in your browser with real, selectable text in a single column and standard headings, not a screenshot. Applicant tracking systems can extract every word, in order.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need a cover letter?
Many employers still read them, and some applications require one. A short, tailored letter can set you apart from candidates who skip it.
How long should a cover letter be?
Aim for 250 to 400 words, comfortably under one page.
Is the PDF download really free?
Yes. Free Resume PDF never puts your PDF behind a paywall. There is no account, no trial and no watermark. Build your resume and download it as many times as you like.
Is my data private?
Your resume is built entirely in your browser and saved only in local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded to a server. Use Export JSON to keep a backup or move to another computer.
Will my resume pass applicant tracking systems (ATS)?
Every template is single-column with standard headings and real, selectable text, which is the format ATS software parses most reliably. Use the ATS checker to compare your resume with a job description.
